A Farewell to Reverend Michael Goode
9 Nov 2020 • General news
This service at Oddingley was very special, partly because it was the first time that we have held Holy Communion since the Pandemic began, but mainly because it was led by Rev’d Michael Goode, who, after coming to help us as a retired priest, has finally decided to fully retire from taking services.
We are immensely grateful to Michael for all he has done for us; for taking most of our Communion Services for the last 13 years, but also especially for being such a great friend and support through some difficult and many happy times! It was lovely that we filled the church to its “Pandemic” limit, but sad that we were unable to give Michael and Jenny all the “hugs” that we would have liked! We will miss them (and Balou) very much and wish them well through precious years of retirement!
Michael and Jenny would like to send this message to us all:-
"It has been a great joy and privilege to have been able to preside and preach once a month at Oddingley for the past 13 years. During this time the atmosphere of the building and the warmth of the community have come to mean a great deal to both of us. Now that the time has come for Michael to withdraw from public ministry, we would both like to thank you all for your kindness and in particular for the generosity of your parting gifts. We are going to miss you all so much but are thankful for so many happy memories.
With our love to you all
Michael and Jenny"
